"Security" by RoboticMasterMind is a piece that portrays their character Crome's flight from a high-security facility where he was brutally tortured and used for many unethical experiments. It has a fearful emotion to it, which directly ties to the central point I think Robo was trying to get across: Escaping from an experimental facility is by no means a piece of cake or without serious risk, especially for a small mutant child.
The entire emotion is gotten across by the combination of red lighting and Crome's facial expression, and both of which are very well done. It's clean-cut and, despite Crome's cyan eyes and green skin, shows no conflicting colors due to the accurate effects of the red light.
Another contributing factor is his countenance and pose, which clearly portray extreme fear. It adds movement to the picture, which significantly compliments the idea that Crome is very alert at the moment in the scene.
For improvement, I would suggest a few minor changes and one major change:
For a minor change, the lights could be improved to look more like alarms, especially the alarm at the top left. To make it more recognizable, I would brighten the lighting around it significantly and make it slightly larger. If possible, it can be shaped like an actual bulb, which would be a dead giveaway to what it is.
The round objects, probably PAKs on a conveyor belt, in the background near the sides of Crome's head are not symmetrical/the same shape, and it would be much more fitting if they were.
For the belt, I would suggest lowering the shadow it produces, so the viewer can better see that it is not attached to the wall. The current shadow seems to indicate below a sort of shelf, which is what I thought it was the first time I viewed this piece.
For a major change, I did notice the electrified wrench device in the foreground, which I believe it a part of the security that Crome is trying to escape. It would explain exactly what he is looking at that frightens him terribly. However, it should be brought out more within the piece to give a better indication about how terrifying this place really is. From what we can see from Crome and what is behind him, this place has a very eerie and cruel aura to it. It would help tremendously with pinpointing the extreme danger of escaping, which is what seems to be the entire point of this picture.
Overall, Robo's picture is very impressive, especially with the lighting and the emotion involved.
N'aw, why is little crome so cute and adult crome so.... Creepy... XD but sorry i left that stream so suddenly and without warning. it was a school night to say the least XD
